Here, Kazakhstan reveals its wild soul — untamed, raw, and humbling. You ride not just through powder, but through centuries of nomadic spirit and ancient solitude.

This is the ultimate season finale, designed for those who don’t just ride mountains, they move through them with intent. The Tien Shan Backcountry Camp blends high-altitude adventure, glacier riding, and untamed terrain with a level of planning and precision you would expect from an elite expedition. This is not a ski holiday. It’s a high-alpine mission across 3 wild locations. 11 days total. 7 full days on snow. And countless moments that’ll stick with you long after your board’s back in the garage.

Expect elevation. We ride between 3,000 to 4,000 meters. The snow? Dry. Fast. And if the snow gods are kind - deep. Real deep.

THE CONCEPT

Welcome to the far edge of Central Asia — where the mountains are vast, the snow is dry and untouched, and the silence hits harder than any soundtrack.
This is Kazakhstan’s Tien Shan range, a high-altitude wilderness of alpine bowls, ridgelines, and steep couloirs that demand both precision and grit.

THE TERRAIN

We ride the Zailiyskiy Alatau—a jaw-dropping subrange of the mighty Tien Shan Mountains. Long valleys. Wide-open bowls. Aggressive couloirs. Endless lines. And views so vast they make your lungs feel small. We move camp between zones to stay on fresh, untouched snow. You’ll earn your turns—but what you get in return is the kind of terrain dreams are made of.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: 8/10

Kazakhstan isn’t your everyday ride - it’s high-altitude, big-mountain terrain. We’re talking 3,000 to 4,000 meters above sea level, where the air is thin and the powder stays cold and dry. You’ll need solid stamina and experience in deep snow and backcountry riding.

And while the terrain is varied and beautiful, it’s raw. You’ll be riding in open alpine bowls, steep chutes, and yes, sometimes weaving between rocks or narrow couloirs. Control and confidence are key.

RIDE PROFILE

Freeride: 30%
Skitouring / Splitboarding: 70%

First we acclimatize to get use to the heights. Then it's a mix of touring and riding with possible drops by skidoo or heli. Demanding tours rewarding with great views and even better snow

SAFETY & GUIDES

> You’ll be led by local mountain guides who know these peaks like home and lead all groups
> Our expedition leader ensures smooth logistics and communication
> Avalanche safety gear (beacon, shovel, probe) is mandatory and non-negotiable, you must know how to use it - we recommend a pre-trip avalanche course
> An avalanche airbag backpack is strongly advised (available for rental - reservation required)
> Daily avalanche briefings + route planning

FINAL NOTE

This is for those who live for raw descents, off-the-map lines, and that edge-of-the-world feeling.
By the end of this journey - as our local guide Rustam puts it: “No matter your level, you’ll leave this camp leveled up.”

No filters. No staging. A glimpse into the raw energy and wild beauty of our past expeditions - captured below.
